For most of us here, there was life before LCC. (This does not apply to Eric & Ellen; you can read more about that here). And that means we all had a favorite candy (or two) before we discovered Five Star Bars, Sea Salt Caramels and Chocolates of Vermont.
When asked what their favorite childhood Halloween candy was, LCC staff responded with quite a variety of answers. And what do those answers say about us? For one, some have not always been chocolate lovers.
Nerds, Sweet Tarts, Bazooka gum, Sugar Daddy and Bit-O-Honey made the list- some sweet and sour types lurk in our midst.
Then the classics were named, like Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms, Tootsie Rolls, Butterfingers, Junior Mints and some chocolate bars made by a company not to be named here.
Judging by my own two boys’ trick or treat bags, not much has changed. But a favorite candy can only say so much about a person- a costume on the other hand can speak volumes! Here is a list of costumes from LCC staff that include some old favorites as well as some originals- Yard Stick anyone? Spice Girl (with glow-in-the-dark pumps), Dracula, Bride, Ballerina, Tomato, Princess, Wonder Woman, Witch, Bag of Jelly Beans and an Oreo Cookie.
