Winner of the Say Something Sweet Contest

Posted on September 7, 2010 8:57 AM by Erin

The results are in!  Our friends over at have read through all the amazing entries they received for the Say Something Sweet Contest, and selected Tara as the winner!  Her prize?  Over 1,000 of our chocolate hearts and 250 sheer organza favor bags.

Congratulations Tara!  We hope you and your guests enjoy the chocolate favors on your big day.

Here is Tara’s winning entry, explaining how WeddingWire has been so sweet to her during her wedding planning process:

“I happily admit that I am addicted to WeddingWire.  I have a browser open at all waking hours (and have stayed up late just because there is a good discussion on the forums).  I cannot imagine planning a wedding without the help of your site.  I would have lost it and shot my MoH long ago.  The reason I joined WeddingWire was for your tools.  I love the checklist and budget features since they help keep me on track.  However, the best part about WeddingWire was something I didn’t join expecting- the friendships.  I have no doubt that I will still be on WeddingWire long after I am actually married just to provide support and help to my WeddingWire family.  I can log on in a terrible mood and before I realize it I am laughing about hilarious postings.  I can vent without worrying what people will think, and I can get honest but constructive comments on my wedding plans.  When Roger and I had to postpone the wedding indefinitely because of my health issues I actually felt more comfortable talking to the women on WeddingWire than anyone.  They made a terrible time a lot easier.  I was overjoyed the day I could get back on and tell my WW Sisters that I was healthy enough to start planning again.  There are other wedding sites out there (apparently) but none that even come close to rivaling WeddingWire.”

Thanks again to for partnering with us on this fun contest!

And for those of you who did not win, here’s a little something sweet for you…..we offer volume discounts on your wedding favors!  Just give as a call at 1-800-465-5909 and we’d be happy to help you pick out just the right chocolates for your special day.

Say Something Sweet Contest

As I mentioned before, the winner will receive 250 sheer organza favor bags and over 1,000 chocolate hearts! (You can even choose your favorite flavors - milk, dark, or dark mint chocolate).

The contest starts Monday, August 9th, and you have until Sunday, August 29th to enter.

Never been to before?  You definitely need to check out their's a must for all engaged couples.  Not only can you enter the Say Something Sweet Contest there, but you can also research the very best vendors in your area (be sure to visit our storefront under "Favors & Gifts"), create your own wedding website, find the perfect wedding song, and so much more.   And don't miss the WeddingWire Blog, for great tips and real life wedding inspirations.

Good luck!

I know I’ve told you in the past about some of our more traditional wedding and event favors like our gold ballotin boxes with truffles and the sheer organza bags with chocolate hearts but being that we’re coming into the holidays, it’s the perfect time of year to be a little less traditional and a little more seasonal with your favors. And I have a couple items that would be perfect depending upon exactly when your event is scheduled. And what’s even better, they’re pretty inexpensive as not only event favors go but gourmet chocolate event favors go.

So, if you’re getting married near Thanksgiving/in November or even just hosting an open house, an anniversary party, a holiday dinner, whatever, the milk and dark chocolate placesetting turkeys are wicked cute.  Now, if you’re event is a winter event (regardless of whether it falls before or after the holiday season) the milk and dark placesetting snowmen are just adorable. He’s holding a little broom and has a sweet little smile.

Both the turkeys and the snowmen are just over 2” high, weigh in at an ounce of gourmet chocolate, are kosher and cost only $3.50 each. The only problem you might have is convincing yourself it’s ok to bite into them because they’re so cute, you almost feel bad eating them. Almost.
